Education & Healthcare
Ensuring high-quality health and academic development are treated as basic rights, completely decoupled from private profit.
A Uniform, Scientific Public School System
The Bhartiya Samyavadi Party campaigns for a uniform public school system funded entirely by the state. This means every child, regardless of economic background, attends schools with the same standard of infrastructure, curriculum, and teaching quality.
To eliminate elitism, we propose making regional languages and mother tongues the primary medium of instruction, alongside providing free, high-quality translation and publication of scientific and modern study materials in all Indian languages.
Universal District-Level Public Healthcare
Healthcare must be completely socialised. We advocate for the establishment of fully staffed, state-of-the-art super-specialty hospitals in every district and sub-district block, eliminating the need for rural patients to travel to metros for specialized care.
Diagnostics, life-saving medicines, and critical surgeries must be provided free of cost, funded via central tax allocations. We support setting up a centralized drug manufacturing corporation to bypass corporate patent markups.
Democratising Higher Education
Public university funding must be protected to prevent fee hikes that lock out working-class youth. We propose regularising academic calendars, increasing postgraduate fellowships, and creating district-level vocational colleges to align skills with public utility works.
Programmatic Goals
- Allocation of 6% of GDP to public education.
- Allocation of 4% of GDP to public health.
- Free medicines and diagnostics at PHCs.
- Curriculums published in all regional languages.
